About the Author
Elliott Sober is Hans Reichenbach Professor and William F. Vilas Research Professor in the Department of Philosophy, University of Wisconsin, Madison. In 2014 the Philosophy of Science Association awarded him the Carl Gustav Hempel Award for lifetime achievement in philosophy of science. His publications include: Evidence and Evolution: The Logic Behind the Science (2008), Did Darwin Write the Origin Backwards?: Philosophical Essays on Darwin's Theory (2011) and Unto Others: The Evolution and Psychology of Unselfish Behavior (1998, co-authored with David Wilson).

Sober takes the reader beyond the simplistic ideas associated with Ockham's razors, and shows how there is a deep connection between simplicity and likelihood. The explanation associated with Bayesian model selection is especially clear and avoids the over complication often associated with statistical arguments.

The problem is not with the book which is excellent but with the Kindle edtion

The problem is not with the book which is excellent but with the Kindle edtion, it is a disgrace. It claims to have page numbers which it does but all wrong. page 60 appears 4 times. Other pages are 'missing' though the text is right, in other words there is no point in having the page numbers. It is also hard to read and scrappy with underlined sections for no reason, it is like getting a highlighted second hand book.
