Great Bridge Between For-profit & Non-profit Leadership

I've worked with church leaders who excelled in business who have a business mind-set towards church ministry. There has always been something inside me that dies when I hear people refer to "souls saved" as "sales." We've got to increase sales!!! They are well meaning and want to accomplish something for the Kingdom. This book does an excellent job of making a distinction between the business world and ministry strategy. At the same time it does give church leaders some objective criteria or measurements to help them get a handle on how they are doing and what they need to be doing in order to better fulfill their calling. Lots of good tools and graphs that clear up the fog of many ministry evaluations. Some of the numbers you work with seem arbitrary, but when used consistently and in context, it is very effective in putting some objectivity to your analysis. One of the best tools was the measurement of the four different kinds of growth that ought to be realized in a church brought out by Dr. Bob Whitesel in chapter 5, "Strategic Planning: Not Just a Process." Using Acts 2:42-47 and research he suggests four different areas with tools to measure growth in each: Maturity, Unity, Favor with Community and Numerical. Lots of good takeaways and tools!

Good book but printing quality is very poor

The book has some imperfect pages which makes very hard sometimes to read. Several pages throughout the book have a white line that fades the letters in the middle of the pages.
