Okay, fist off, sorry for any typos, I'm running on fumes; I promptly decided that finishing reading Frostbite took priority over sleep. And boy, did it. Without a doubt, this is the best book in the series thus far. As I am In complete awe of the book, I'll break it down into the most amazing parts.

ELENA: Elena was an amazingly strong heroine who blindsided me with her frawesomeness. As the plot unraveled, layer after layer of her new dimensions were revealed, impressing me more and more each time. To top it all off, Elena has just enough flaws and quirks of her own that you can relate to her, or at least as much as us mundane people can.

PLOT: Much like all of Adrienne Woods' other books, Frostbite's plot left you on the edge of your seat the whole time (hence my sleep deprived state). At this point, I've given up on guessing what's going to happen, and am just along for the ride. The plot twists are a never ending source of entertainment, and always keep me guessing, yet never disappointed.

ANSWERS: Yes, you heard that right, there are some answers in this book!!! I have been patiently(ish) waiting for the answers to so many questions since Firebolt came out, so I literally jumped with joy when I read this book (then promptly fell because my jumping skills are subpar). And let me tell you, the answers were more than worth the wait! Of course, the new cliffhanger(s) are sure to drive me insane until the next book comes out.

All in all, Frostbite, by Adrienne Woods, was an amazing read that I highly recommend. Make sure to read the rest of the series first, starting with Firebolt. And for the love of blueberries, hopefully the next book will come out soon! Thanks for another amazing book, Mrs Woods!

Writing was better in this book

So many questions were answered. I could finally get off from my bed of pins and needles as the mystery of the dark forest was cleared up. Writing was better in this book, compared to the previous two. Elena's character becomes more real. She grows and learns how to deal. My heart went out to her so many times in this one.

**SPOILER ALERT**

Loved the claiming scene! We'd all expected it but not how it actually turned out. It was awesome how Elena got super angry to see Arianna in the ring to claim Blake and jumped in too. Then the super awesome Cheng tricked Elena into the coliseum with Blake from where Blake didn't let her escape. The showdown was frawsome! I loved king Albert's part in the fight. When Blake finally yielded, I whooped for our badass heroine as she finally found her powers, her place and her dragon.

But then......
Blake oh Blake! Stupid, idiotic, prideful and complete drama queen Blake! He just freaking left! For the entire remaining book. He wasn't there when Elena really needed his support, with the council, press and her own personal demons. Not even the telepathic calm-downers :(
Why was Blake removed from action like that? This was my only issue with this book. Blake isn't a coward who'd run away like this, but the type of guy/dragon who'd confront Elena and be a douche to her face to face. But he did leave. We didn't even have a drunk Blake sighting.

So I am waiting for Moon Breeze to see how this very impossible relationship grows. But hey, there is a very thin line between love and hate, passion being the basic ingredient for each. Whatever Elena and Blake might tell each other, it is no secret that they affect each other in ways no one really understands. So lets see how this actual claiming goes.

Highly recommend!!! The book we have all been waiting for!

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. I highly recommend this book and am amazed with the author's ability to tell and create a story. After reading Thunderlight I was not sure how the storyline would develop into the conclusion I thought from the beginning. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book and I can honestly say that Ms. Woods was masterful and really had me believing the outcome. I loved that we got to see more of Blake and also a look into the evil he deals with. The big thing that we all were anticipating was so well put together and I felt like I was actually there in the excitement of it all. I had a big smile on my face the whole time I was reading this and thought "finally". I agree with another reader that this series should be made into a movie. It was that good. All of your questions will be answered. I cannot believe how everything came together. I was left in a state of surprise and the process of the truth being revealed was nothing like I thought. The relationship that was beginning to be developed between Blake and Elena was believable and romantic!! But the world itself was what shined and the characters that flowed in the story fit and made sense. I can't wait until the next book to see how everything wraps up. High praises for this book and a definite high recommendation. Clean book as well with some language though.

About the Author
Sharon Radionoff, Ph.D. Dr. Sharon L. Radionoff had early exposure to many kinds of music through church/community choirs, concert/marching band as well as piano study and performance. Her love for music and teaching grew as she studied music in college. Although voice was her main instrument, she continued studies of trombone and piano and performed in recitals, operas, musicals, choirs, bands and orchestras. Upon graduating with her BME from Eastern Michigan University, she became a Middle School/High School band director. During this time, she attended an MENC conference at the University of Michigan where she heard Dr. Robert T. Sataloff lecture on "Care of the Professional Voice." This one lecture fueled her passion and changed the course of her life and as they say, 'the rest is history.' This passion provoked her into knowing not just how to get desired vocal results but what allows these results to occur in the healthiest way. This zeal for voice care continued through her master's degree study at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and upon graduation she taught a variety of choirs, directed musicals and taught a full studio of voice students at Co-Lin Jr. College and then Southwestern Michigan College. She also directed community and church choirs. Six years after their initial meeting, Dr. Sataloff invited her to complete a professional fellowship at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Arts Medicine Center in Philadelphia, PA. Post fellowship and Ph.D coursework, she became the singing voice specialist at the Texas Voice Center with Dr. C. Richard Stasney. While there she conducted her dissertation research and was awarded her Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1996. She has taught undergraduate and graduate vocal pedagogy, vocal pathways and studio voice students at University of Houston and vocal pedagogy at Rice University. Currently she is Singing Voice Specialist and Director of the Sound Singing Institute as well as being a team member at the Texas Voice Center. As a Singing Voice Specialist, Dr. Radionoff has a unique viewpoint in the field of Arts Medicine. Her education and experience as both teacher and performer as well as her motivation to know the why and the how, have created a platform of practical knowledge which enables her to empower singers to find healing and fulfillment. Amazing prequel novella to Warm Bodies

The New Hunger is a prequel to the novel Warm Bodies. It examines the origins of characters R, Julie, and Nora eight years before they cross paths in Warm Bodies. The three narratives are told in alternating chapters and all are amazing. The world they live in is falling apart. Civilization is hanging by a thread. Cities that were deemed save not long ago are discovered to be overrun. The weather is becoming more and more extreme in addition to the zombie problem. No place is safe.

R has just wakened to his unlife as a zombie. He's fairly confused and can remember snatches of his old life, but it's fleeting. There's a monster in the back of his mind who mocks him and won't tell him what will sate this horrible, insatiable hunger inside of him. His story shows that he was never a normal zombie. Even when the inner monster was screaming at him, he would sometimes save whatever human victim was in front of him. He also meets M, sees the Boneys' creation, and has small but meaningful encounters with Julie.

Julie is 12 years old, but she's adept in combat training and weapons as is necessary to live in this post-apocalyptic world. Although young, she already has a jaded, adult air about her. She's never experienced anything that a normal teen should: first kiss, awkward dates, school, and no real worries. She has starved for days, killed people in defense, killed zombies, set piles of bodies a fire, and tries to take care of her family however she can while they look for a permanent home. Her parents try to shield her as much as they can, but she can't be protected from a shattered world where most are dead and they can't find a safe haven.

Nora is 16 years old and the guardian of her 7 year old brother Addis. She can't succumb to her own sadness or hopelessness because she would take her brother with her. She keeps strong and pushes forward to find food and shelter each night. I found her story the most compelling because she was presented with the hardest choices. Should she help a random stranger or leave them to die for the safety of herself and her brother? So many of us would say it's an easy choice. However the crux of the novel is that without humanity, it isn't really living. You wouldn't really be any different than the zombies. Her story was also the most emotional for me.

The New Hunger had one small flaw. Marion describes R and M very similarly and it wasn't clear at times who it was. The novella is also so short. It makes me want to read Warm Bodies again to have a different view of R, Julie, and Nora. Other than that, I absolutely loved The New Hunger. It has gotten me more eager for the sequel to Warm Bodies called The Burning World.

Prequel to Warm Bodies.

In this prequel we learn more about the main characters. Julie is a 12-year-old girl taking a trip with her parents. The world has changed and she has seen her nightmares come alive. Her parents are trying to find a safe place for them to settle.

Nora is only sixteen. She and her brother Addis have one purpose in life: to stay alive. Finding food and refuge is a priority. Nothing else matters.

And of course we get some R. He has just become one of them. He's trying to understand this new world he has woken up to. He knows he's different. He can feel it but he can also feel the hunger calling.

Great way to introduce these characters. I liked how their lives intertwined years before.
The horror of the new world is there but also the hope. Hope like a lingering spark...

If I had to pick a favorite character in this novella it has to be Nora. She was a survivor but she was just a teen, doing the best she could to keep the only family she has alive. Her love for her brother was deep. She would do anything for him. She also recognized that not all zombies were the same and just maybe not everything was lost. Did she make a mistake?

As a side note, I'm super excited for the sequel!
