Sweet, Satisfying Novella!

When I first heard about this series of novellas a couple of months ago, I was so excited! Not only would I get a new story every month for a year, but some of my favorite authors would be writing them! Win, win!

In A December Bride, Denise Hunter takes readers back to Chapel Springs, the setting of her newest series, and introduces them to Layla and Seth. Despite being a huge fan of Denise's books, I wasn't quite sure how she was going to pull off this story centered around an engagement of convenience. I should have known better, though! I was absolutely delighted with this sweet, romantic story! Denise does a great job of introducing the main characters, sharing their history, developing a great deal of tension, and weaving together a story that had me sighing in the end. Unlike many novellas, I actually felt like I got a complete story that was paced well and came to a satisfying conclusion. I highly recommend A December Bride! [5 stars]

Delightful Christmas Romance

I enjoyed this book very much and actually finished it in about 2/2.5 hours. It was a very easy read, enjoyable characters, and fun Christmas whirlwind romance. Kind of reminiscent of a Hallmark Christmas movie ... actually making this into a Hallmark movie would be a good idea! If you want a relaxing, inspiring read; then you need to check this one out! :)

It still works for February - the month of LOVE!

OK mom. I have to take back what I said... I LOVE this book!

When I started reading the book, I was sure it would end up on my "not a favorite" shelf in GoodReads. I could NOT have been more wrong. It's a FANTASTIC story. And now I find myself determined to go hunt down the rest of Denise Hunter's Chapel Springs stories.

I seriously misjudged this novella and I'm so glad I gave it a proper chance. Otherwise, I might never have discovered how wonderful is truly is!

It is possible I'm not the only one who might jump to the wrong conclusion so I'm going to give you a couple of hints that I really don't think will kill the story.

The synopsis might give you the wrong idea - especially if you've ever read Zebra or Harlequin romance novels. You might expect it to be one of those things where the two characters make a shady deal about getting married and then doing a "quicky" divorce later. It's NOT! Thank GOD!

Granted, the reasons for the "fake" engagement are not all that altruistic or even honest but they do not drag marriage through the mud like I was afraid they would. This is truly a good, decent, Christian story. And, while I hold that courtship is still the best way to head toward a marriage - it could be said that this is about what they have. They're "engaged" before they even kiss and there's a minimum of physical contact because the whole thing isn't real anyway.

A terrific story, excellent writing, real characters and great world-building! And it's easy to get right into the story - even if you haven't read any of the others that Denise has written. I didn't even realize this was part of a continuing series until I got to the end and saw "other books by Denise Hunter..." - which I now have to read...of course.

READ IT!

In January 1987, Robert Alan Krakower, a former media producer and magazine publisher from Canada, had a mystical encounter on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza that lasted eight days and eight nights. During this time he did not eat, drink, or sleep. He received information about our universe, the design of all living forms, and most importantly, about a mutation in the human body that will lead to the emergence of a new species, the Rave, in 2027. With it, the evolutionary program will turn its back on humanity. The Industrial Revolution and the nation-states as we know them will come to an end.

The coming Rave will look human on the outside, but will have little in common with us. In fact, Raves will appear severely disabled at first. But the moment three of them come together they turn into “one being” with a shared consciousness that can do things that are unimaginable to us humans and will make us look primitive.

Krakower was told the universe is an unborn living entity and that life on Earth will come to an end in about 1,300 years when it will be hit by a meteor. There will be no more biological life after Earth. However, this will be the beginning of yet another journey for us through the solar system with the emergence of the Eron. It will not eat or breathe. And it will live as long as the universe exists.

About the Author
Steve Rhodes was born in Austria where he spent his childhood and studied mechanical engineering-management before moving to London. While at university, he won a nationwide search for best music-newcomer and subsequently got signed to Columbia records as a singer & composer. Various TV, radio and other media appearances followed. Steve later built his own recording studio and established himself as a music producer. He also had his own film studio and produced music videos incorporating early 3D computer animation. In 2003, he was introduced to the Human Design System and began to study with the founder Ra Uru Hu. He then lived for a few years on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza where Ra lived. Until 2010, Steve owned one of the leading recording studios in London (Alpha Centauri Recording), which was used by U2, Kanye West, M.I.A., Depeche Mode and many others.

When your introduced to Design the most prominent thing you hear

When your introduced to Design the most prominent thing you hear about is "strategy and authority" which protects newcomers from delving past what human design was intended for, to correctly orient people in relation to their vehicles. This promotes health and TRUE self love, a real journey of the self. That should be the end of the story BUT when did that ever stop the curious and the scientific minded skeptic from seeking validity. Of course design will prove that the person doing the digging was designed that way. (hence....my review lol) So after further digging through circuits and angles and types and gates and profiles and channels and personal observations one could STILL be left with this feeling of "WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT????" and the ONLY hint you get in design teachings (once again, protecting the newcomer) is that there is this transformation in the solar plexus which concludes in 2027 and that until then we are human beings "in transitus". Now if that wasnt something that raised curiosity then I dont know what is......nevertheless, for years I continue my study, studying and observing, continuing my learning. I discovered all I could on the jovian archive site about this mysterious 2027 thing which wasnt much at all.

Low and behold, I am on amazon and see this book called The Prophecy of Ra Uru Hu. My mind screams "FINALLY!!!!" and I purchase the book as fast as I can. Over the next 3 days I go over the whole book which covers Ra's encounter (theres a great video on youtube of his experience with "the voice"), the cosmology, this transitional phase we are in, and where we are headed concerning 2027. What is really important to grasp is just how transitional we currently are and just how utterly finished we are with this conquering and killing/empire building part of our development, yet we can still see it EVERYWHERE. The way we worship, the way everything in our communities is strategic, the way our bodies still contain its deep tribal and mammalian impulses, the way we are limited in our awareness still controlling each other through will, our education systems full of disinformation, media control, big brother governments advocating addiction to the social/welfare state. We are like a giant group of children following their impulses from a time long past. This would've worked before but our life span has at least doubled and a half in the last century so things get wacky. Not only that but the projector has emerged, so now 20% of the population has a waiting/observational quality to it rather than just an act and react paradigm, making us more in touch with the question of who/what we are. We really are in transition and according to HD lore, 2027 is the beginning of something incredibly new. Truly a new being with a new style of Being will enter our plane, and may need help in catching their footing at first.

The author makes his claim that informing the public through his book puts a higher faith in humanity to assist this new state of things rather than not teach it at all, and I agree. I feel that if somehow I am able to spot a sign I will get oh so excited to help truly as much as possible.

I also agree with another reviewer that says this information is great for the seasoned HD professional AND the beginner. HD's goal is correct orientation with the body, not teaching mental information. BUT I can definitely see how massive amounts of people walking around without an informed paradigm has caused incredible amounts of confusion and pain (the program just bumping into itself over and over again....is this really necessary in the genetic plan?) Just look how much people worship money when there is no paradigm. The way people have incredible insecurity and have worship around "doing" just because of the way we are designed. The larger genetic perspective and genetic timeline of design can give some relief here. Giving the cosmology AND the information of Design does have value. But it's possible it wouldn't if people didnt believe in its validity first, havent SEEN its validity, which is created by living the experiment yourself first, otherwise we'd all just be reading about crystals and monopoles and whazoos and taking it seriously.........

With this added knowledge we learn there is a great transition happening and instead of where our normal impulses are usually pointed (or where HD says to just "respond") we could actually be more compassionate to each other in this transition that is happening on AT LEAST the cognitive level (with variable), the empathic level (solar plexus mutation), and the metabolic level (20% of the global population being projector). And it probably goes so much deeper than that. Every one of us feeling the effects of each of these mutations which do not necessarily get along with each other but living in a world that awards controoool. It's like we're TRYING to fight our invitation back into existential bliss but the death throes of the old way are instead the collective experience. We really are moving into a new world, but it is the world that has always been but somehow our vehicles were never configured to experience like the way they are now. We really have a beautiful opportunity to be different. I wonder how compassionate we could be to each other if we respected this transition. How truly honoring we could be to ourselves, and HD plays a useful role in reminding us that we are unique.

This book is great and the author goes in depth on many topics, kudos to him for studying so close to the source of this material. I highly recommend it to anybody who's gone deep into design.
