Short, very sweet and on fire

A great trilogy. Although the story was short, you were very in tune with these characters. Most stories you don't have enough time to get the feel of the MC's to even care, but with Allen and Tom, you feel them right away. They are both intent on the other and exploring each other to the fullest. I just love them!!

About the Author
Philippe Grelu has been Professor of Physics at Universit� de Bourgogne, in Dijon, France, since 2005. After receiving his PhD at University of Orsay (Paris XI) in quantum optics (1996), his interest moved to ultrafast nonlinear optics and mode-locked fiber lasers. His research includes spatio-temporal soliton dynamics and nonlinear microfiber optics. He developed a key expertise in nonlinear optical cavity dynamics, with major contributions in the fast developing field of dissipative solitons. He has delivered numerous invited talks at international conferences and has authored over 150 scientific publications.

Diane calls her best friend, Julie, to tell her that Mick likes her and that she should try to attract his attention. Miscommunication is the plot device, so Julie ends up telephoning the wrong Mick--superjock Mick Wilson, who isn't interested in her at all. Each chapter begins as one of the characters telephones another. Occasionally it will be difficult for readers to distinguish one character's dialogue from another. However, the story is well constructed, and readers will enjoy the excellent character development (even the parents are funny). All's well that ends well . . . In the book Phone Calls by R.L.Stine is about two best friends who gets into a fight. Now their an arguing pack. Julie needs to straighten everything out. Now Ramar an exchange student calls Julie and asks her out. Now Julie has to find a
way to get out of her with Ramar.
Anyone who likes to read can read this book. I recommend Phone Calls to anyone who likes to talk on phone and know how to solve problems. Also if you read this book you might get to know what the author is trying to say. You should read this book because it has an amazing background to the story. This book should keep you out of trouble.

So good I couldn't put it down and read it in about 4 hours!

This book is about a couple kids who communicate all the time by using the phone. This book is mainly about a kid who thought that Mick the football player liked her so she went over to his house and acted like she was interviewing him for the school newspaper. But really she wasn't. There was a big confusion about this so people got back at each other by hooking them up with ther people. To find out what happened and to be so intrested in it like I was, buy the book and I promise that you will enjoy it.

About the Author
Adrian Furnham is Professor of Psychology at UCL, and Adjunct Professor of Management at the Norwegian School of Management, and has lectured widely abroad. He has written over 1000 scientific papers and 70 books and is among the most well-known and productive psychologists in the world. Adrian is also a newspaper columnist, previously at "The Financial Times", now at "The Sunday Times". He wrote regularly for "The" "Daily Telegraph "and is a regular contributor to stations including the BBC, CNN, and ITV.

Michael Argyle (1925-2002) held the position of Reader in Social Psychology at Oxford University and was a Fellow of Woolfson College. He was the author of numerous books and papers in British and American journals, he helped found and, was joint editor of the British Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology. He also played an important part in the establishment of the Social Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society and served as its Secretary and Chairman.

European psychologists examine money and the mind

As a researcher in the field of economic psychology, I am impressed by Furnham and Argyle's depth of knowledge in this area. Most of the research reported in this book is European in perspective, but the European's have always outpaced American economists and psychologists in this field. I am especially pleased to report that the authors have become aware that we poor American scholoars do exist and personally, I am estatic that they cite several of the research articles that I have written in the last five years. Those interested in the cross cultural study of money in this age of a global economy should read this book very closely to discover the differences and similarities in the human mind when it comes to thoughts about money. It is my hope that this book has many readers and that it creates more practical and academic perspsectives on the study of the mind and money around the world.

British authors and research

The topic of this book is of interest to me but the vast majority of the material has quite a British slant to it. The author makes some very good points..one being that we have developed many intuitive programs to help children learn money responsibilities but unlike other areas of development have done no research to see which kinds of parent teaching methods are most effective. The writing is broad in spectrum but I must admit I found my interest waning with the studies of pocket money in British children. Also I felt some of the material was a bit dated but I must give them credit for producing a well researched book on the topic. Now if only some US psychologists would write a comprehensive review of the topic. Dr. Mary Gresham Atlanta Ga
